Estate Planning¬†–¬†Wills, Powers of Attorneys, Medical Treatment Decision Maker Appointments and Binding Death Benefit Nominations

Planning for the future is important, but it is not something that everyone wants to think about. Whether you have children, a business, a few assets or more than a few, everyone should have a Will, Powers of Attorney and a Medical Treatment Decision Maker Appointment in place. If you have money in a superannuation fund, you should also ensure that you have a Binding Death Benefit Nomination in place. If you have particular wishes as to your future medical treatment, you should also consider preparing an Advance Care Plan, detailing your medical treatment wishes in the event of certain medical conditions or situations.

Your Will expresses your wishes after your death with regard to your assets, business interests (if you have them), the guardianship of your children (if applicable) and other matters of importance to you. Your Powers of Attorney, on the other hand, give your nominated attorney power over your finances, and day-to-day living arrangements, and a Medical Treatment Decision Maker Appointment appoints someone to make your medical decisions in the event that you cannot or do not want to make these decisions yourself.

If you have money in a superannuation fund, you should also ensure that you have a Binding Death Benefit Nomination in place. If your superannuation fund is self-managed, I can assist in drafting the appropriate Nomination.

Whatever your situation, I offer a variety of packages to suit your needs.

To provide your initial instructions, please fill out the Will Instruction Sheet and/or the Power of Attorney and Medical Treatment Decision Maker Instruction Sheet and return it to myself. If you would like to make an Advanced Care Plan, please make an appointment to discuss you plans future. Once I have your instructions, I will contact you to discuss your matter further. Alternatively, you can make an appointment to provide your instructions either in person or via telephone or video call.
